On October 19, 1925, the first classes were held at the two-room schoolhouse now known as the Apollo School.

The Apollo School Foundation is planning a celebration exactly 100 years later to commemorate that historic day.

The celebration honoring the Historic Apollo School's 100 years of existence was an exhilarating afternoon of Music -- by Elizabeth Moore, the Pine Knights of Steel and The Rowdy Micks -- Memories shared among alumni and former board members, and Milestones, including the burying of a time capsule to be opened in 2075. The weather cooperated, the seats were filled, and the food was tasty. A great way to celebrate a grand old building's century of serving the community.

Boy Scouts from Hobe Sound Troop 812, under the supervision of Scoutmaster Jeff Batton, performed as an Honor Guard at the Centennial Celebration on October 19.

We were pleased to welcome back to the Historic Apollo School “The Rowdy Micks”. The band has been a favorite of attendees at so many events over the years we consider them our house band.

The Pine Knights of Steel, a steel pan ensemble from The Pine School, welcomed visitors to the Centennial Celebration with the unique sounds only steel pans can create.

The Boys & Girls Clubs’ “Fork in the Road” will catered the Centennial Celebration on October 19.

Fourth-grade students from Hobe Sound Elementary School chose items for a time capsule that was buried during the October 19 Centennial Celebration on the grounds of the Historic Apollo School.
